In Uganda legal fees are governed by the Advocates Remuneration and Taxation Rules. Under these rules one can choose to charge the client basing on a Remuneration Agreement. Alternatively, one can decide to charge or calculate fees on an hourly basis.
Our law firm has a very flexible, negotiable and transparent approach of charging clients. We normally follow what the client prefers most and in accordance with the law. Our rates are inclusive of the law firm’s over heads, administrative costs and all taxes payable by Niwagaba Advocates & Solicitors. Law firms are subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) on fees at a rate of 18%
The charges will not also include out of pocket expenses such as travel, accommodation and subsistence allowance outside Kampala. They also exclude disbursements like photocopying, telephone charges, faxes and government dues like stamp duty.
In most cases, we require the client to make an initial deposit such that the case is acted upon appropriately and expeditiously.

He is also a Member of Parliament of Ndorwa East Constituency, Kabale district-a position he has held since 2006.
